200 W 114/W 115 (1968-1973), Saloon

In 1968, the “new generation” of the W 114/W 115 was presented and has since enjoyed great popularity. The original model range, internally called the W 114/W 115 model series, comprised six models, ranging from the 200 D with 55 hp four-cylinder diesel engine to the 250 with 130 hp six-cylinder carburettor engine. Thanks to its double bumper, the latter was already visually distinguishable from its less elaborate brothers. Even today, the “new generation” is still popularly known as the “Stroke/Eight models” and – as a miniature model on the international collector’s scale of 1:18 – is also highly impressive. Nothing was left to chance when designing the precision model, which is assembled by hand from more than 120 individual parts. For example, the model has a painting finish in the authentic colour shade and it has a decorated and flocked high-quality interior in which all the details combine to make a faithful copy. Six parts of the model – doors, bonnet and tailgate – can also be opened. There is a reason why the Mercedes-Benz Classic packaging comes with a screwdriver and a glove: they can be used to detach and remove the classic without leaving any fingerprints on the glazing or the painted body.
